Rep. Jacobs Announces Dongola to receive $550,000 for Water System Upgrades

Pomona – 115th District State Representative Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) has good news for the village of Dongola, as information was released this week by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity on $18 million of grant funding for improvements to water systems throughout the State of Illinois.

“In Illinois towns both large and small, water infrastructure has reached the end of its useful life and that requires costly repairs and replacements,” Jacobs said. “The Village of Dongola will receive $550,000 from the State of Illinois to address issues with their aging water infrastructure. This is good news for the citizens of Union County.

Grant funds from DCEO’s 2020 Public Infrastructure program can be used for repairs and system upgrades for water/sewer lines, as well as new and reconstruction projects including sewer treatment systems, pump stations, and more.
