MARION – State Representative Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) hosted his quarterly Tourism Advisory Committee meeting at his district office in Marion this week. Rep. Jacobs says he believes tourism is a key economic driver for southern Illinois.
“I’m so happy to have hard working folks from Rend Lake, Visit SI, and regional tourism directors advising me on the state of tourism in Southern Illinois,” Jacobs said. “People come from all over the world to enjoy festivals, parks, fishing and recreation on our many rivers, lakes, and streams, hunting opportunities, hiking and biking trails, and more. We must continue to provide entertainment and recreation for our citizens and for those that want to come and spend their tourism dollar in Southern Illinois.”
