Rep. Jacobs Votes NO to Allow Unsafe Drugs and Hide Medical Personnel from Background Checks

SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Representative Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) on Monday vehemently opposed House Bill 3637 that would allow drugs and medical procedures rejected by the US FDA (Federal Drug Administration) but approved by the World Health Organization to be used in Illinois. If this bill becomes law, it would prevent the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations from doing background checks on doctors who lost their licenses in other states for malpractice.

“This is an obvious end run around the federal government policies that liberals may disagree with to say that unsafe drugs can still be prescribed in Illinois even if the FDA has determined the drugs are unsafe with bad effects if used by patients,” explained Rep. Jacobs, a licensed doctor of optometry for over 45 years.
