Harrisburg, IL – State Senator Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) is partnering with State Representatives Paul Jacobs and Patrick Windhorst to host two free Senior Health Fairs later this month. The events will bring together healthcare providers and senior service vendors to provide health screenings, valuable information, and prizes for local seniors.
On September 23, Senator Fowler and Representatives Jacobs and Windhorst are hosting the annual Marion Senior Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the HUB Recreation Center, located at 917 West Main Street in Marion.
Representative Windhorst says the annual event provides not only information and services to seniors but also helps showcase the wide variety of services available to seniors in the region.
“Gathering dozens of healthcare and senior services vendors and inviting area seniors to attend this free event is an important way we can highlight the wide variety of healthcare and senior citizen services we have right here in southern Illinois,” Windhorst said. “I’m proud to work with my fellow southern Illinois legislators to provide this opportunity for our local seniors.”
The following day, September 24, Senator Fowler and Representative Jacobs will host another Senior Fair in Carbondale from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center, located at 200 South Illinois Avenue.

“These senior fairs are a great way for local seniors to connect with services and providers all in one place,” said Senator Fowler. “We want to make it easy for folks to get the resources they need. I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces, visiting with everyone, and offering helpful services like flu shots and blood pressure checks.”
State Representative Paul Jacobs, a practicing optometrist, says he enjoys interacting with his constituents at the annual event.
“We really have a thriving healthcare industry in southern Illinois that provides people of all ages with top-notch care,” Jacobs said. “This is an opportunity, especially for seniors in the area, to gather information from dozens of vendors, interact with providers, and take advantage of some free health care screenings. We’re looking forward to another great event.”
This year’s events will feature a variety of free services, including free health screenings and access to helpful legislative brochures.
