Springfield, IL – State Rep. Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) voted NO on the FY 2027 budget passed on the last day of session. The $55.9 billion is now the largest budget in Illinois history, including $800 million increases in taxes and fees, $410 million on programs for illegal immigrants, hundreds of millions in Democrat pork projects, and is capped off with a pay raise for politicians.
“When families are trying to afford high fuel prices, rising utilities rates, and pay for their kids’ educations, the Governor and his allies continue to spend more and tax more,” commented Rep. Jacobs. “What happened to common-sense, basic math, and accountability in Illinois? I voted NO on this latest record-spending budget.”
