Rep. Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) passed House Bill 1341 today to create a task force to study the potential options for the facility in southern Illinois that has been closed for a decade.
“We need to determine whether or not the existing buildings can be repurposed or should be demolish them and make way for new development to help with the economic growth for the region,” said Rep. Jacobs. “All that property is growing is rattle snakes and other things. We need to grow jobs and opportunity.”
