Rep. Jacobs: Pritzker Signs Largest Budget in State History

MARION, IL – State Representative Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) released the following statement after Governor JB Pritzker signed the largest budget in Illinois history.

“With nearly $2 billion more than last year, this $55.2 billion budget is built on one-time revenues, a billion dollars in tax hike and fund sweeps from dedicated projects to be used for Democrat pork projects.

“Our fiscal issues are NOT new. This is a problem of the Democratic majority’s creation and their own, admitted, tax and spend compulsion with another pay increase for politicians. This time, Democrats gave lawmakers a 5% raise for their efforts to raise taxes and spending to record levels.

“This isn’t monopoly money: this is peoples’ livelihoods. Life just got a whole lot more expensive for Illinois families.”
