The Ohio River community of Olmsted came together over the weekend to celebrate the grand opening of a new RV campground that was built on a restored clay mine. PRN, Breaking the Cycle, and local partners helped secure grant funding to plant 20 native species trees at the site, and over 50 people came out to help plant the trees and celebrate the occasion.

Thank you and congratulations to all who made this possible: Village of Olmsted, Senator Dale Fowler, State Representative Paul Jacobs, Southern Five Regional Planning District and Development Commission, Faith in Place, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, National Wildlife Federation, University of Illinois Extension – AJMPU Unit (4-H members), and Olmstead Historical Society.
