“Literacy is very important for success in life and anything I can do to help promote young people to read is what I am looking to do,” explained Rep. Paul Jacobs. “This year’s theme goes along with America’s 250th Birthday celebration and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. In addition to the many topics and themes kids like to read about, I hope they read at least one book about America and one of the Founding Patriots like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abigail Adams, or Betsy Ross.
