Mt. Vernon – State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) and State Rep. Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) are teaming up to offer a free senior citizens health and wellness fair on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Rolland Lewis Building in Mt. Vernon. Senator Bryant and Rep. Jacobs are hoping for a great turnout from local seniors.
“I am excited to partner with Rep. Paul Jacobs and local organizations that help promote health and wellness for senior citizens throughout Southern Illinois,” Sen. Bryant said. “I encourage any senior citizen from Jefferson County and the surrounding area to attend this free senior fair and interact with state service providers and health care organization available to them right here in Southern Illinois,” said Bryant.
“I am proud to co-sponsor this free senior citizen health fair along with Senator Bryant,” Rep. Jacobs said. “Senior citizens who attend can have their blood pressure checked, pick up useful information from healthcare and elder care providers, check for unclaimed property that the state may be holding for them, and enjoy coffee, donuts and fruit free of charge.” said Jacobs.
The fair is free and open to the public. Free refreshments will be provided and senior citizens are encouraged to register to win a door prize when they enter the fair.
