
1. Representative Paul Jacobs’ summer reading club challenges 1st through 4th graders to read EIGHT books during their summer break. Books for local library programs are also acceptable and books over 150 pages count for two books.
2. Once a student completes the book reading, please fill out this form and have a parent or guardian verify that the books were read.
3. Completed forms should be submitted here by July 1, 2026 or sent to Rep. Paul Jacobs, 600 Halfway Road, Suite 103, Marion, IL 62959, or scanned and emailed to [email protected].
4. Students reading at least eight books this summer will receive an official Illinois House of Representatives Certificate of Recognition and entry (with a parent or guardian) to a Thrillville Thrillbillies baseball game at Mountain Dew Park in Marion on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, for a special “Night at the Ballpark” celebrating summer readers!
5. There will be an extra bonus for any reader who reads at least one book about American history or the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Learn more about America’s 250th Birthday at America250.com.
